Local knowledge on local bars and restaurants as well as our favourite joints. Tips on where to go for the best music, dog friendly venues and the best value for money. Watch this space for reviews!

Details of upcoming events whether it be the large events like BMAD and the Torbay Air Show. As well as less well-known local attractions like Children’s Week and the annual Paignton Lions Club Boxing Day Walk to the Sea.

St Weonards Bed & Breakfast Paignton Information:

Firstly, though, we should give you some information on us.  Team PJ is mostly made up of Leigh (my husband), Alice (our daughter) and I. We are joined during school holidays by Leigh’s children Mollie and Tye, who love to help us out. Providing they are earning pocket money to spend!

Leigh is a trained Chef with over 30 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. He has worked as a Chef, Publican, Landlord and more recently as a Kitchen Skills Trainer for one of the UK’s largest pub companies. In addition he is a personal licence holder and holds a Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Advanced Food Hygiene certificate. Leigh also cooks a mean omelette!

My own experience comes from working in travel and hospitality since leaving University in 1997, operating and travelling with clients on trips and events around the world. Dealing with the administration of travel and events and working face to face with customers has been part of my role since day one.

Given our respective skills and experience when our work/life balance began to feel a bit out of kilter with the arrival of Alice in 2014, running a Bed and Breakfast together seemed the obvious choice. Since arriving we have not regretted the decision we made for even a minute!

We live by the seaside in a family-friendly resort, we get to meet interesting people. To top it off we are  work for ourselves and we get better quality and more flexible family time. What is not to like?

We aim to exceed expectations for our guests and to help them get the most from their holiday. Whether you are visiting for business, holiday, family gathering or a sneaky night away with think a good bed and a good breakfast are vital!
