On 23rd June Boris Johnson gave the go ahead for hospitality businesses to re-open from July 4th providing that they are Covid Secure.

We have been working hard over the last few weeks using industry guidance to make sure that we are ready to open as a Covid Secure operation. This morning the Government launched its official guidance for hospitality businesses and we have checked our procedures against their recommendations making a couple of tweeks to ensure that we have all the bases covered and to provide you with the safest environment that we can.

We have created a new Covid Cleaning and Hospitality Policy which will provide you with all the information that you need on our new procedures before you arrive. We also have a risk assessment in place and can send you a copy if you would like to see it.

The ultimate aim of our plan is to reduce social contact and increase our already stringent cleaning processes in order to prevent the spread of the infection. The main changes that you need to be aware of are:

  • Check-in: Unless otherwise arranged we will take payment for your stay remotely on the day of arrival. Check-in times will be confirmed back to you so that only one group arrives at any one time. We will still offer you a cuppa on arrival but will have to remain at a social distance so please don’t be offended!
  • Breakfast: You will be offered our standard breakfast or an in-room bagged breakfast. If you choose our regular breakfast you will be given a specific time slot for your service (this enables us to offer a full breakfast to all rooms). Please be on time for breakfast – you will be shown to your table and asked to remain seated for the duration. You will be served tea/coffee and cereal/yoghurt and your order for cooked breakfast taken. If you choose a bagged breakfast we will agree contents and delivery time when you check-in.
  • Public Areas: You will be asked to adhere to certain actions during your stay, giving way to other guests coming down the stairs before you go up, washing your hands frequently, using hand sanitizer as you enter the building and Breakfast Room.
  • Bedrooms: Rooms will be thoroughly cleaned between stays with extra focus on cleaning and disinfecting contact surfaces such as light switches, taps etc. Rooms WILL NOT be cleaned during your stay, unless you are staying for more than 5 days. We will collect rubbish, cups to be washed and towels to be replaced should you need it, at midday each day.

We are asking guests NOT to travel should anyone in their party have Covid symptoms – we will do our best to re-let your room and avoid cancellations charges where possible. You will be asked to leave should you develop symptoms during your stay, providing it is safe to do so. If it proves not possible for you to return home and you have to self-isolate with us, unfortunately you will be liable for the additional cost of your accommodation, any extra meals that we supply to you and any costs associated with moving the guests who were due to stay in the room you are occupying.

There are some quite big changes that we have to make in the way that we do things and we hope that you appreciate why they are required.  There is quite a lot to take in so please do get in touch if you have any questions at all.

We are looking forward to enjoying the rest of the summer season with our guests and hope that we will see you soon!
